The cheapest lunch around the world series No.2: Philippines (and more about the country)

In the following series I am going to show you, how cheap meal you can find around the world.

Let´s focus on another Asian country: Philippines. It was one of the most affordable countries I have been to. 

This meal is the Batchoy soup. It is the dish you have to try when you visit Panay island. Total cost of this meal together with Coca Cola is 73 PHP ( 1.5 USD ). 

More about the country and my visit:

In total I explored 4 islands (Panay, Luzon, Palawan, Negros) during my 10-day stay. What I like about Philippines are the people. Almost everyone can speak English and they are very friendly. Its nature is really charming. 

Palawan:

My trip started here. I arrived in Puerto Princesa. On next day I bought a ticket to El Nido. To be honest I did not like the place. There are lots of tourists and the prices are really steep. The best way how to explore the location is by renting a motorbike. I spent here 2 nights and then returned back to Puerto Princesa. The only think I did not undertake is the island hopping, which I regret a little bit.

Panay:

I travelled by plane from Puerto Princesa to Iloilo. I found the city to be very clean unlike from other cities in Philippines. By boat you can get to Negros island.

Negros:

Sugar beach-if you are looking for a quiet place this is it. For me this was a paradise.It is  not so touristy destination.

Luzon

Manila-the capital city is located here. I recommend you to rather save your days for another activities then visiting it. There is only a handful of sights, poverty is ubiquitous.

To conclude: Philippines is a very interesing country.  There are lots of  nice locations to be discovered, but there are some flaws like: 

1.food: When I compare Philippine cuisine with cuisine of neighborhooding countries, it is  less various and tasty- my opinion. My favourite Philipine meal is Batchoy soup.

2. Manila-lots of beggars, poverty, traffic, public transportation sucks,...

...Once I would like to come back and see more.
